Preparation
- Step 1
- Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Step 2
- Meanwhile, remove sausage casings. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat and fry sausage meat until cooked and golden brown. Add garlic, red pepper, shallots, and mushrooms and continue frying for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Step 3
- Add cream and cheese and stir until mixture is even and creamy.
- Step 4
- Add pennine and basil and serve.
