burger buns, toasted
Patties

ground beef

black beans, rinsed, drained, and coarsely crushed

ground cumin

ground coriander

smoked paprika

3 tbsp.
olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste
Caramelized onions

large yellow onions, sliced
3 tbsp.
olive oil
45 ml
Salt and pepper, to taste
Toppings, to taste
Sliced tomatoes
Curly lettuce leaves
Mayonnaise
Mustard
Ketchup

Preparation

Preheat the BBQ to high heat.
Step 3
In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except for the oil. Season, and form patties.
Step 4
Grill the patties until you get a nice sear. Continue cooking over medium, indirect heat for about five minutes per side.

Caramelized onions
Step 6
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and brown the onions, stirring regularly for about five minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 7
Top the buns with the patties, caramelized onions, tomato, lettuce, or other condiments, to taste.
